WELCOME!We are a small, friendly and unpretentious walking club based in Walks are scheduled for most Sundays whatever the weather, rain, snow or shine. Transport is provided using members cars and the fuel costs are shared equally. You might also want to bring along some 'spend' for a possible coffee stop on the outward trip and a pub visit on the journey home, as well as a change of clothes.

'A' - These walks include all the Munros and other mountains of a demanding nature. 'B' - These are less demanding walks and include Corbetts (Scottish Mountains over 792m) and distance walks with less steep inclines. |

The present annual subscription is £10 and £5 concession (including unemployed). You can walk with the club for free on two occassions, before we will expect the subscription to be paid.

These are a regular and popular feature of our programme. The keynote is
economy - hostels and B&Bs are commonly used and self-catering where possible.

There's more to our high life than mountains! As well as food and wine tasting evenings there are organised visits to places of special interest. Biking of the pedal variety (BYOB) comes round fairly often, and we have very popular groups who play badminton and climb during the week.
Summer Conditions
• Rucksack with a strong polythene liner to
keep contents dry
• Waterproof jacket
• Waterproof trousers
• Hat and gloves
• Walking boots
• Spare warm layer such as a fleece top
• Map, compass and whistle
• Plenty of food and drink
• Personal first aid kit and medication
Conditions may also dictate
that the following extras be considered:
• Gaiters
• Sun hat, sunglasses, suncream and midge
cream
Many members also now carry
their own emergency survival bag.
Winter Conditions
• All kit previously mentioned for summer
conditions
• Extra warm layers
“A” walking in winter conditions is only for
experienced walkers. As previously stated, those intending to go on a
winter “A” walk must telephone the walk Contact Person
beforehand where advice may be sought as to the appropriateness of
specialised items such as crampons, ice-axe, goggles and head torch.
DONT forget a change of clothes can make a big difference for the journey
home
